Community Health Education Project

The Community Health Education Project is an initiative to bring preventative care measures to the villagers. We aim to provide community-based education to empower individuals to make informed decisions about their health practices and disease management. We currently organize monthly classes that provide education while engaging villagers in a community forum. However, our goal is to increase these efforts to biweekly sessions as soon as we have more staff. This expansion will allow us to reach more community members more frequently, enhancing our ability to educate and empower the villagers in health-related matters.

We plan to target different needs in the community, such as the following:

  • Malaria Prevention and Treatment

  • Preventing and Treating Dhildhood Diarrhea

  • Managing/Prevention of Communicable Diseases

  • Preventing Jiggers in the Home

  • Managing Hypertension

  • Raising Awareness of Sexually Transmitted Diseases

During these classes, attendees are provided with printed materials that can be referenced after leaving the class. The open-conversation format of the classes allow for community members to ask questions, receive personalized information, and leave feeling more capable to make better decisions.
